#98971a was gruvbox's faded green, picked from the palette rather than from the mark. The island tile is #8ec07c - sampled from the wordmark itself, so the badge and the logo now agree. Dark text on it is 7.0:1 rather than 4.8:1, which is a gain as well.
Developed in dejima
A badge for projects developed inside dejima.
Which way to use it
Copy the SVG into your repository. One file, no request to anyone else's server, renders on any forge and in any mirror, and keeps working offline and behind a proxy:
curl -fLO https://gitbox.branderson.io/dejima/dejima-badge/raw/branch/main/dejima-badge.svg
mkdir -p assets && mv dejima-badge.svg assets/
Or use shields.io, if you would rather not carry a file. It is the usual way to do this and it is one line, at the cost of every reader of your README making a request to a third party that can see who is reading it, and of the badge disappearing when that third party is down or blocked:
Or hotlink this repository's copy. Simplest to write, and the worst of the three: your README then depends on this forge being up and reachable for everyone who reads it. Copy the file instead.
Beyond the README
A badge is only visible to someone already reading the README. Two forge fields reach further:
- Topics. Add
dejimaas a repository topic. Topics are searchable and filterable across a forge, which a badge is not, so this is the field that makes "what do I develop in dejima" answerable in one query. Both Gitea and GitHub support them. - Description. A short "Developed in dejima" clause shows in repository lists and search results, where the README does not appear at all.
Neither replaces the badge - the badge is what a reader sees on arrival - but the topic is the one that scales past one reader at a time.
The mark
The dejima wordmark and logo are trademarks. This badge reproduces the name to refer to dejima, which ATTRIBUTION.md permits without asking. That permission is for the badge as it is: use it unmodified, to say that a project was developed in dejima. Recolouring it, redrawing it, or adapting it into a mark of your own is not covered.
Using it says nothing about dejima having reviewed, endorsed or produced your project, and it should not be arranged on a page so as to suggest otherwise.
Colours
Taken from the wordmark itself rather than from a palette: #8ec07c is the
green of the island tile, #282828 the outline, #ebdbb2 the lettering.
Dark text on the green is 7.0:1, comfortably past AA.
